What this means is that you don’t have to set up a fresh connection every time you need to transfer files across computers; it’s always on as long as both computers are turned on.

Please note that the ability to set up a home network is built into all major operating systems.

Back to Mr. Yinka and his friend Mr. Bola.

Assuming Mr. Bola wants to transfer or share files with his colleague Mr. Yinka, this is how it should be done;

Step 1: Mr. Yinka should turn on his computer’s hotspot should be turned on. To do so, he should follow the steps below.

Step 3: On Mr. Bolas’s system, open Command Prompt by searching for it in the Start menu.

Step 4: Type ipconfig and press the Enter key.

Step 5: Make a mental note of the IPv4 address, or you write it down in a notebook, or piece of paper and keep it safe.

Step 6: On Mr. Yinka’s Sysytem, press the Windows + R buttons.

Step 7:  After two backslashes, type the IPv4 address of Mr. Bola’s System, and hit the Enter Button. This is an example of how you should enter the IPv4 address:// 192.0.2.146.

Step 8: Enter Mr. Bola’s Username and Password.

Step 9:  Select the files you want to share.

You can even share an entire folder or drive. Right-click on the disk or folder you wish to share, then select Properties, go to the Sharing tab, select Advanced Settings, and check the box next to “Share this folder,” then click “Apply” and “Ok” to save it.

Step 10: Refresh the page on Mr. Yinka’s System, and you’ll be able to access the folders received from Mr. Bola.

You can then,  copy the files and paste into any desired location for easy access.

Following that, the receiving device will receive a notification, Accept File on the Other computer. the files will be transferred.

First, download and install the Share it app on both computers. You can get the App here.

Once the program is installed, Open the Shareit App on both computers and connect them.

On the sender’s computer, go to the upper right corner menu and select “Connect to PC.”

Then choose the recipient’s computer from the drop-down menu.

Next, in the popup you received on the recipient computer, click “Accept.”

The two PCs are now successfully connected, and ready to send and receive data.
