How to install The Facebook pixel

Facebook Pixel, an invisible online monitor.

Interestingly, every action we take on the internet is being monitored by an invisible eye embedded in websites called The Facebook Pixel.

This unseen observer sits quietly in the background, taking note of every action we take on a site be it shopping, watching movies, or just skimming through articles and write-ups.

It keeps a tab on all our activities and syncs them to our Facebook account for future use to the benefit of the site owners.

In this post, you will discover how to install and use the Facebook pixel to track site visitors and improve the effectiveness of your social media campaigns.

Facebook pixel is an analytics tool that informs of a code that is inserted on a website to track visitors.

It tracks website visitors’ onsite behavior and links it to their Facebook profiles.

The pixel fires and tracks when someone takes an action on a website.

The data generated by the Facebook pixel tracker helps advertisers to target and retarget those users in the future.

Using a custom audience, they can gain more insights about the audience, send targeted messages to those that are aware of their brand.

They can also analyze the effectiveness of their social media campaigns and conversion funnels.

The Facebook pixel gives useful information to help you create better ads and target your audience effectively;

Generated data from the Facebook pixel tracker helps ensure your ads are shown to the audience most likely to take the expected action.

This will in turn boost your Facebook conversion rate and give a better return on investment (ROI).

Below are some of the reasons you should consider Facebook pixel

  • Retargeting;

    Facebook retargeting pixel data and dynamic ads allow you to show targeted ads to people who have already visited your site.

  • Track conversions;

    It also tracks conversions and analyses your sales funnel. Facebook conversion tracking gives you an insight into how your audience interacts with your ads, this will help you redefine your strategy.

  • Facebook pixel is also useful in tracking metrics like cost per lead or cost per conversion.
  • Optimize for conversion;

    The only conversion one can optimize for in the absence of a pixel is link clicks. The pixel enables you to optimize for conversions that align closely with your business goals such as purchases and sign-ups.

  • Custom and lookalike audience from your website; It builds a custom audience for retargeting and lookalike audiences for cold traffic campaigns.

Note that Facebook pixel tracker starts collecting data and tracking visitors from the time it is installed, it doesn’t work in retrospect.
